Mornington Basketball yesterday attended a meeting with Basketball Victoria regarding an update on the return to sport.

As previously advised indoor sports facilities are due to open from 22nd June 2020. Basketball Victoria are currently awaiting further advice from the Government in relation to indoor spaces and adjoining courts. Once we have confirmed details from Basketball Victoria our Association will assess and consider when we may be able to resume operating.

In addition at the meeting Basketball Victoria informed Associations that they are aiming for a competition return date of 11th July 2020. Once again this is not a confirmed date and until such time that Mornington Basketball receive confirmed details we are unable to advise our members how the next domestic season will be structured.

No further confirmed information was provided on return dates for VJBL or Big V competitions.

Mornington Basketball has detailed operational plans in place to mitigate the risk of virus transmission when we re-open. Members will be provided with instructions on how our facilities will operate in accordance with Government and Basketball Victoria guidelines prior to our resumption. The Association will be in contact directly with Clubs to discuss their requirements.
